Salem’s self-operating splash fountains will be open every day beginning Tuesday, June 21, 2022. Spray fountains are a fun way to stay cool during the hot summer weather. The splash fountains at Riverfront and River Road Parks are open two hours earlier than the splash fountains at the smaller neighborhood parks.

Bucket of Words meetings include individual and group writing exercises, mini-lessons, encouragement, silliness, and chances to share about works in progress. Meetings include writing prompts for individual or group writing and optional time for sharing. New members are always welcome.

Check out a kit at the Children's Desk from a variety of choices for a 30-minute session in Story Room B. A CCRLS library card is required. Kits are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Most kits are recommended for grades 2 - 5, but there is also a small selection of kits available for younger children.
