City Council meetings
Sign up to provide virtual comment or testimony at the next Salem City Council meeting using the Salem Meeting Public Comment Sign-up Form. The Sign-up Form is available between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting. An email will be sent to you this afternoon explaining how to log in to the online meeting and how to comment.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: If you have difficulty signing up using the link in the above paragraph, or don't receive a confirmation email within an hour of completing and submitting the sign-up form, please immediately email cityrecorder@cityofsalem.net (before the 2:00 p.m. sign-up deadline, if possible).
As an alternative, you may submit your comments in writing as described in the paragraph "Other ways to provide input," below.
Please note: Per Salem City Council Rule 15: Public Comment. We will be enforcing the time limits specified in the rule. Each of the City Council comment periods under Agenda Items 2 (comment for on-agenda items) and 8 (comment for any other issue), shall not exceed a maximum of 30 minutes, and the pre-registration will be limited to no more than 10 people for each on a first-come, first-served basis. These rules do not apply to public hearings or land use hearings.

If you cannot participate via Zoom, please submit your written testimony
by 5:00 p.m. prior to the meeting by email to
cityrecorder@cityofsalem.net. You can also submit paper copies at the mailbox outside the City Recorder's office at the Civic Center, 555 Liberty St. SE, Room 225,
also by 5:00 p.m. prior to the meeting. Comments submitted after 5:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting should be sent directly to citycouncil@cityofsalem.net.

Budget Committee meeting
The first
City of Salem Budget Committee Meeting of 2022 was Wednesday, January 5. The virtual meeting through Zoom included a presentation of the Fiscal Year 2023 through Fiscal Year 2027 Five-Year Financial Forecasts and election of officers. 2022 Budget Committee meetings were held April 20, April 27, May 4. Another meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. May 11, with an alternate meeting, if needed, on May 18. June 13 and June 27 will be City Council meetings where a public hearing and adoption of the 2023 budget will be held.
